With Serial ATA now in wide use, it is very easy to get extremely high performance for very little additional cost - not to mention the really cool cables you get to use inside the system! SCSI is still the accepted choice for high-end server systems but there are new standards on the horizon - SATA2 and SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) that will once again be a huge performance jump.
